Solid Wooden Ceiling Beams
This photograph portrays a magnificent dining room. The solid wood beams were salvaged from Debenhams of Oxford when it was refurbished. I secured the beams by sinking them into the walls. The beams were distressed and coated in a soft light oak stain finish. With age, they have since cracked in places giving them even more character. Again, using re-claimed timber, I made a pelmet that broke up the substantial wall area.
The walls below the pelmet were covered in Lincrusta Walton wallpaper and lightly stained. The overall feeling in the room was one of warmth and age.
As time goes by, this room will only improve and I defy anyone to state when the work was completed, as it is timeless in every aspect.
